Technicians:

Engineers:
Engineers are often involved in the design and planning of a particular project, whether it is a new oil pipeline, or the design of a new motor vehicle. They assume an overseeing role in the project, from concept to completion.
Consultants:
Consultants are specialists employed by companies or corporations to design or create a project plan. They create the specifications for the project, and may be involved in the production or project process, in an advisory capacity.
Project Managers:
As the scope of engineering projects grows, involving millions of pounds and spanning months or even years, there is a growing need for experienced, knowledgeable project managers to oversee the progress and control the costs.
Management:
Very often, qualified engineers will get involved with small or new companies, or even form their own companies, taking on the dual role of technical and general manager.
