Corporate human resources, whether as an HR assistant or director, is based on the idea that well managed employees are productive employees. Recruitment specialists work in recruitment agencies, screening and pre interviewing candidates for corporate clients. This type of job may be in general recruitment, or in a specialized field, such as medicine, engineering or finance.

Labour relations specialists serve as mediators and facilitators in management / employee disputes, develop best practices for disciplinary and other matters, and may assist with negotiations in wages or with layoffs.

Specialists in the fields of compensation, benefits and job analysis assist employers in determining salary rates, benefit structures, such as pensions, and even in analyzing positions, and preparing job descriptions.
